Q: i know that i can probably assume, but what does excelsior decadence mean exactly?
A:
when you assume, you make an ass out of u and me ;].
Excelsior is a latin term, it has two meanings
- fine wood shavings, used for stuffing, packing, etc.
- ’Ever higher’
I’ve chosen the latter definition because it has connotations of pursuing excellence.
Decadence means
- a falling from high to low standards in morals
- the state of having low or incorrect standards of behaviour; immorality
- unrestrained or excessive self-indulgence.
I prefer the third definition.Coupled together ‘excelsior decadence’ personally means : pursuing excellence in unrestrained/excessive self indulgence.
That was rather long winded but I felt I had to explain the etymology of my motto for a good night out. Wherein my usual high standards are lowered and my morals are questionable.

Yesterday’s
- decadence was in the form of shots. Amazing £1 shots. Not an ounce of fuck was given on this fortuitous night. The pursuit continues on Monday night…or maybe tomorrow night….Long Live Bank Holidays!
- I think I’d rather save 2grand for September, I’m gonna start working on that.

You must be new at this… Barkeep! you are in for one helluva night
grab a tumbler, a bottle of sambuca [a fine man that Samuel Bucca], a wine glass, a lighter, a straw, jagermeister, a double shot glass and a tissue.
pour about 2 shots of jager into the tumbler, about a shot of sambuca for the wine glass, set up your tissue and straw on the bar. Tilt the wine glass so you can set alight the sambuca for about 3-4 seconds then quickly pour the sambuca into the jager [in essence this is a jagerbomb now] and trap any gas left in the wine glass by turning it upside down, onto the straw and tissue…
now watch as I drink, inhale from the straw and repeat till I end up like this…

Desperately
trying to hold on to what internet pop culture savy I have. Moved in okay - the Excelsior Decadence has been amazing so far and my flatmates seem cool. Ermm so this is an update of sorts.
