Meet Sterling Archer, a cross between James Bond and Frisky Dingo
‘H. John Benjamin (”Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist”) provides the voice of international spy Sterling Archer, code name Duchess. Jessica Walter (”Arrested Development”) is the voice of his mother.
Adam Reed, creator-exec producer, said, on Adult Swim, “we had done superheroes and supervillains. Espionage just seemed like the natural evolution. It’s a familiar genre, people know a lot of the conventions. Thought it would be fun to take “Mission Impossible,” “Man from U.N.C.L.E.” and James Bond skew it really badly.” He’s right.
“There’s been an insane amount of cackling,” said Aisha Tyler (”Talk Soup”), who plays Archer’s ex-girlfriend and colleague’….via Denver post
here’s the first episode of the series Archer
I first found out about this song through a friend who was very much into MSI’s style of music…must admit, from the beginning I did and still do enjoy some of MSI’s stuff. Anyway I later found out that ‘Bring the Pain’ was a cover song and not an original song from the band. This came as a surprise to me because they performed it mostly as they would their other songs. I found out through YouTube, as I seem to do about most things recently….so ‘bring the pain’ was originally by Method man of the Wu Tang Clan, an amazing artist, although I do find the original version to be monotonous…it was later covered by MSI in their own fashion spectacularly and I thought I’d share how one of my favourite songs from different artists from two of the most awkwardly distant ends of the music spectrum can make the same song sound good in both rap and rock
so here’s the MSI version which kicks in at 00:09
….and the Method Man Original which also incidentally kicks in at 00:09
enjoy! =]
wow this thing is really getting a lot of usage now
Esquire even has this hot actress doing it ;] - Gillian Jacobs
and I hear google and some smart phones are also using it in their tech but haven’t wiki-ed that yet, will do later!
Misfits is a new E4 drama series about a group of teens on community service, who reluctantly try to save their town after developing superhero powers.
‘….The characters in Misfits have all been given ASBOs because they have refused to conform with society in some way. Their ASBOs are the only thing they have in common – they’re forced to spend time together, but don’t even particularly like each other at first. ’
If you’re a fan of Skins, then you’ll be a fan of Misfits.

….this is amazing, the allegories are so fucking tight, I’m not really into the grime scene but Bashy has become one of my favourite lyricists. Apparently he’s the joker/jester of grime though and its really comes across in this song but apart from that he succinctly gets his points across. From my experience, comics aren’t really that big a deal in the UK, it doesn’t really fit in with most of the emerging ‘youth culture’. Plus last I heard it kinda had a nerd attachment but this artist just links the UK’s Endz with the American comic franchise - MarvelDisney and DC…it’s a culture clash of sorts but it works because of the comedic element, hope to hear more of his album ‘Catch me if you can’ [meaning I’ll YouTube it].
But till then I hope he maintains his flow, content, delivery and material- thats the fantastic four indeed,
